经过反复的探讨，本次展览名称定为“墨·界”。首先讨论的是“墨”这一负载中国千年文明，最能代表中国的艺术语言，它所引发的诸多问题，比如，“墨”在当下能有何创新？同时衍生的当代文化的创新问题又该走向何方？中国当代艺术的根在哪里？传统与创新的关系又是怎样的？什么才是真正代表中国审美核心的当代艺术？……其次，我们展开的是“界”的话题，本次展览所要展开的是“墨”和与“墨”相关的当代艺术的边界，也分别牵涉到时间的界限、地域的界限和文化的界限。本次展览计划的展览时间定在农历辛卯年岁尾和壬辰年年初，对全球所有华人而言这是特别的时间段，在这辞旧迎新、跨越年关的展期里，将要跨越的是时间的界限；展览位于上海莫干山路，恰巧处于上海的普陀区与闸北区的交界处，展厅临窗可见贯穿上海内河的苏州河，这是地域的界限；上海是具有时尚脉动的国际大都市，是东西方文化交流碰撞的活力都会，在这里大家关心的是当代文化的拓界。希望观众带着自己的问题和思考走进展厅，或许在其中能寻找到各人想要的感受与解答。

The exhibition is named “Ink•Boundary” after repeating discussions. “Ink” carrying Chinese thousands of years’ civilization, the most characteristic Chinese arts language, is our fist topic. It arouses many questions such as: what creation of ink will appear? Where is the root of Chinese contemporary arts? What’s the relation between tradition and innovation? What can really represent the contemporary arts of Chinese aesthetic core? Then, we come to the discussion about “boundary” and this exhibition is mainly about the ink’s boundary, simultaneously time’s boundary, territorial boundary and cultural boundary also referred. The opening date is in the end of Xinmao year and at the beginning of the Renchen year in lunar calendar, a meaningful time for global Chinese, responding the time’s boundary; the location is on the Moganshan Road, the border of Putuo Distract and Zhaibei Distract, standing the territorial boundary; Shanghai is an fashionable international metropolis where the western and eastern culture communicate and crash, correlating the cultural boundary. We sincerely hope viewers entering into the display hall with their questions and thoughts can get the feelings and answers they expect.
