展览介绍:

由北京全艺社主办的“永乐风翔-唐重作品展”将於八月六日(星期六)于北京全艺社798空间开幕。本次展览将展出澳门年青艺术家唐重近两年来最新创作的绘画和雕塑合共十七件作品。

作為澳门艺术创作中坚力量的代表,唐重经常参加国内外的各种展览,澳门艺术界的各种展览更是少不了他的参与。从其创作的作品数量上来说,唐重也是年轻艺术家中最為多產的一位。虽然只有三十四岁,但已為人父,他画面中出现的质朴、天真的元素让观眾感受到了一位父亲的慈爱。本次“永乐风翔”个展,是唐重的第五个个人作品展,自2003年以来,在经过“风和沙”、“树下无风”和“前前后后”三个重要时期之后,唐重的作品风格越来越具有强烈的图案性和个人风格。正如策展人黄家龙所说“唐重的画意已经成為澳门当代艺术的一个重要组成部份”。

观眾在唐重的作品中除了能看到他自成体系的符号外,也能感受到近十年来他相对稳定的绘画风格。我们看不到艺术家师法於谁,他所竭力避开的是对客观事实的描摹,完全以其个人的眼光和角度,去探索发现。这些特点使他的作品看起来分外质朴、自然而又富於韵味。如中国传统水墨画对老子“五色令人目盲”美学理念的秉承,唐重在他的作品裡面把色彩这个现代艺术最為推崇的元素消解掉了,代之以纯黑纯白,平淡天真的趣味就跃然画面上了。

在意念上,唐重的绘画一方面是在这个纷繁复杂世界裡对质朴天真心灵境界的嚮往,另一方面也是对澳门人閒适平静生活的一种反映,有时候我们於这种平淡中还能体会到一丝幽默和怡然自得。我们可以说这种幽默和怡然自得体现在艺术家把动物拟人化,人却拟物化中。树上相遇的两条虫子长著两张人脸,互相打著招呼;驀然回首的绅士却长著一个鸟嘴巴,用迷茫呆滞的眼神看著你。笼统来看这些元素仿佛是一种很个人的创作追求,实际上它们包含了艺术家对社会尤其是澳门回归之后,光怪陆离变化下对人性、社会文化、传统的反思。本次展览将持续到十月九号,敬请期待。

In the Time of Peace and Harmony – Works by Tong Chong

 “In the Time of Peace and Harmony– Works by Tong Chong” which is organized by AFA Beijing(Art For All Society Beijing) will be held on August 6 (Saturday) at AFA Beijing 798 Art Zone. This exhibition will showcase 17 pieces of the latest paintings and sculptures which were created in the recent two years by Tong Chong, the outstanding artist from Macau.

As one of the representatives of Macau artists, Tong Chong is indispensible to the art exhibition in Macau, furthermore, he always participates in various domestic and international exhibitions and art fairs. He is also the most prolific young artist in Macau. Although he is only 34 years old, Tong Chong has become a father. The audience can feel the affection of a father from the plain and innocent elements in his paintings. “In the Time of Peace and Harmony” is the fifth solo exhibition of Tong Chong. Since 2003 - following the three crucial stages of ‘Wind and Sand’, ‘Restlessness’ and ‘Back & Forth’ - Stronger pattern features and individual style appear in his works. As the words the curator Kalong Wong stated “Tong’s works have been recognized as an important part of Macao contemporary arts”.

Besides the unique symbols in his works, the audience can also find a relatively constant style in his works in the recent ten years. It’s difficult to say whom he learns from, but he tries to avoid imitating an object and make effort to explore by his own view, these features make the works especially plain, natural and appealing. Taking the aesthetic idea of Chinese traditional ink painting from Laozi “The five colors confuse the eyes”, Tong Chong eliminates the element of color which is adored by contemporary art and uses pure black and white instead, and then the charm of the flat and fancy-free appears in his paintings.

As for the conception of Tong Chong’s works, on one hand, they yearn for the simple and ingenuous spirit in this complex world; on the other hand, reflect the casual and comfortable life in Macau. A kind of humor and leisure can be found in the artist’s description that the animals are personified and the people are animalized. Two worms having human faces greet each other on the tree. A gentleman with a beak turns around, staring at you with confused and glassy eyes. Generally speaking, these elements are the personal pursuit to art, however, actually it contains an exploration about human nature, culture and tradition which have been changing under the dazzling society after Macau’s hand-over to China.
